Where cost isn’t involved, the answer is always 911.

A Bentley Continental GT Speed convertible would fit the bill. Let's face it, you're not getting a light, driver focused experience anyways, might as well go fast. Though tbh the base or even V8 would suffice.

A 80s Mercedes Benz 300GD convertible. An oil tanker crossing the ocean is faster, and could handle better.

Probably the best answer, always hard to argue against a 911 much less a turbo

I was shocked it wasn't on the list. Maybe the AWD requirement through it off.

Yup. You could even get them in VR4 trim. They were U.S. only, first retractable hardtop in the country since the Fairlane Skyliner in 1959. Rumor is that they were what prompted Mercedes to come up with the original SLK.

I have heard that rumor but I heard it as the SLK was made with Mitsubishi parts. Never made the connection I guess

I believe it. If I had the means I’d drive one.
